Damn. I was impressed by the music factory. Their teachers are active in the music community and masterful and making singing accessible for even yoddlers like me! Shalane helped me sing soprano more like a siren goddess and less like a siren ambulance. I was able to master some of the techniques that I was stuck on in musical theater growing up. Now I don't embarrass myself in karaoke!

I love this place. Going on my second year of guitar lessons with Alex M. Great atmosphere and great teacher.

Sitting down with Ari, I realized how much I didn't know about music theory and the guitar fret board and decided to begin lessons twice per week initially. It's been just over a month now I cannot believe how much sense music theory and the guitar fret board makes to me right now. Ari has really laid it out a good foundation so that I can see how everything fits together like never before. Ari not only understands jazz guitar, but he also knows how to teach according to the way a person learns. Recently, I've graduated to a once per week level and the stress of playing with a big jazz band has gone away.

My son has been taking guitar lessons from Ari at The Music Factory for four years and he loves it. It's amazing to see a kid continue to be motivated about something that requires hard work and dedication and I truly credit Ari with his talent as a teacher for inspiring my son. Ari moves kids at their own pace and with just the right amount of pressure - not too much, not too little. He says that hard work is more important than talent and I think he's right. He's also just a hip kind of guy and my son likes hanging out with him. We've seen Ari play live and we have his CD's - he is incredibly talented. Ari continues to inspire my son and keep him excited about guitar even though he is in high school now and has a lot of other stuff going on - he never wants to miss a lesson no matter how tired or busy he is.

Teachers are relaxed and fun to work with. Ari has been flexible with my Son who likes playing his guitar around the school grounds. I have seen improvement in his playing this past year.

I am so thankful that I found the Music Factory! I do a lot of public speaking for my job and have always wanted to learn how to strengthen and improve my voice. I've also wanted to learn how to sing (for fun) for decades, but have always been too shy to take lessons. I'm turning 40 next year and managed to get up enough courage to finally sign up. I'm so glad I did. My teacher, Shalane, is so talented and so warm. Her easy-going energy puts me at ease and I feel so comfortable and supported by her. The container she creates in her classes has helped me gain skills and confidence. I highly recommend her and the Music Factory!

Alex is an amazing teacher. My daughter took guitar from him for over a year and she progressed quickly both in skill level with guitar, but also in confidence and social skills. My daughter has some issues relating to other people, including some speech issues, and I was upfront with Alex about this before signing her up. He was amazing the whole way. Always positive and always a great communicator both in person and via email.

I took several guitar classes with Kimo a while back - he is an excellent instructor and very personable. He was more concerned with teaching me how to play the guitar rather than trying to get me to pay for more sessions. I still have his very helpful teaching notes! In addition to the actual instruction, he also had great advice on what to or not to buy - I am an expert at the violin (this is not like an Asian thing but I had insisted to learn it) but was a complete novice with the guitar. It also helps that he is a bonafide musician in an actual band - I attended one of his concerts, which was very enjoyable, but had to leave before I could talk to him.

Ari Joshua does a good job of teaching this adult student music theory and clever jazz guitar voicings. Ari has a nice way about him and his calm demeanor makes the learning experience nonthreatening and enjoyable. Ari's background and current music career outside of the school also impressed me and I have seen him play live on a number of occasions which is also inspiring to this frustrated musician! Who says "those who can't do, teach"? Ari does both exceptionally well.

Here's why I dig The Music Factory. The atmosphere is casual, personable and relaxed, but the instructors are real professionals who know what they're talking about and don't just give you Green Day tabs (unless you're into that, I'm sure). I've taken all kinds of music lessons with all kinds of folks in all kinds of places and settings and what I learn at The Music Factory is comparable to what I could get at any serious school without the pretentiousness.

I began taking singing lessons with Bridgid at the music factory from an online coupon and had a great time. My voice got consistently and measurably better and I felt like I was given quality instruction at the lesson as well as good ideas for practicing at home.
Bridgid is laid back and friendly and a great instructor. Thank you!

If they can teach this old guy how to play guitar, they deserve 5 stars. Working with my whole fam and we're having a great experience so far.
